2024 PROGRAM - Motorboating
The youth voted to pursue motorboating as their program for next year. This includes:
The PA Fish and Boat Commission’s BOATING AND SAFETY AWARENESS COURSE with certification
Note: Anyone born on or after January 1st, 1982 must have this certificate to operate a motorboat (>25hp) on PA waters.
This is a lifetime certification and does not have to be renewed.
This will be open the Ship and Club members and their parents/guardians as well.

2024 ADVENTURE TRIP - Mystic Seaport and the US Coast Guard Academy
The youth unanimously voted for a long weekend to Mystic Seaport, with overnight stay at the US Costa Guard Academy, pending the ability to make arrangements. The target weekend dates are:
SHIP UNIFORM TRAVEL POLICY: Upon its founding, the Ship voted to use wicking T-Shirts for its official uniform most of the time. One of the two exception was on extended trips like Mystic. So, all the folks in the Ship will need to purchase a “class A” uniform. For Sea Scouts, the uniform is really just a Dickies work shirt/pants with color code DarkNavy (DN). We use the same Minsi Trails shoulder patch and we have white on black 940 numerals. The easiest way is to purchase the shirt through SG Trading Post at Home - Sea Scouts - SG Trading Post for the shirt. I do not recommend their long pants. I suggest you search for Dickies work pants shorts and be sure to select something with color code DN (dark navy). Plenty of time but if you have holidays or birthdays coming up this spring, something to keep in mind
CLUB UNIFORM TRAVEL POLICY: Same as above but you will wear your Scouts BSA “class A” uniform since you are under 14 and not officially a Sea Scout. However, the wicking class B shirt from SG Trading Post with your “first name” and “Ship 940” is fine and preferred.
More details to follow.
